Handbuilding pottery for beginners

Pinching teapots for beginners

Colored clay
Curtis Benzle 6 wks live + 4 wks review Curtis takes his students through different making techniques with colored clay, starting with his method to mix mason stains into clay and build pattern across a slab before forming it into a mold, through all the stages of creating lovely translucent porcelain vessels. Potters are encouraged to develop their own patterns and coloring stains, and he addresses the challenges involved and how to overcome them. Sculpted Clay Creatures
Sam Clark 10 wks access Sam Clark uses his own signature clay dragons to teach potters to create cartoon-like figures, including a troll jar and a dragon mug that start from a wheel-thrown bowl. His techniques show how repositioning just a few elements changes the attitude and mood of a face or pose, and the class concludes with painting and finishing the final characters.
