Who we are
TeachinArt was founded in 2014 when Koos and Antoinette Badenhorst created an online platform where artists from across the world can learn techniques and skills to enrich and improve their art.
They were born in South Africa and moved to Mississippi in the USA in 1999.
Koos is a certified project manager with over 30 years of IT experience and has build a reputation as a professional art photographer and videographer. He is in controls and manages all the video productions of TeachinArt. Antoinette is a self taught professional potter with over 30 years ceramic experience. She presented hands-on workshops in several Europe countries, Canada, South Africa and the United States of America. Her translucent porcelain creations are in public and private collections. Both of them were featured in several international magazines and newspapers. They presented online porcelain workshops to students from across the world under the website name of PorcelainByAntoinette. |
E-course students as well as art teacher expressed a need to expand their business and they started TeachinArt online school of art with incorporation of Antoinette's work.
The couple plan to present high quality art classes from selected art teachers to art students in any part of the world. Artists who cannot attend hands-on workshops will have the opportunity to have full access to the teacher during the e-learning class. Koos and Antoinette Badenhorst expanded the porcelain e-courses from PorcelainByAntoinette to TeachinArt.com, the online art school. TeachinArt is an online school of art that presents art and craft online workshops to art students across the world. Students can do a variety of art e-courses at their own time, at their own place and at their own pace. All the art instructors are professional artists with many years of art teaching experience. Future plans for the art school is to add painting, glasswork, wood carving, jewelry and many more art & craft classes to this online workshop. |

Format of classes
Our classes are pre-recorded workshops where the videographer is the only student in the class. The videos show details of techniques from different angles and zoom into actions to give every student a front row seat. Repetitive actions and unnecessary information are removed to keep the videos under 30 minutes for easy viewing time.
We normally convert a typical 5-days in-person workshop to a 6-weeks online class with 4 additional weeks for reviewing. Shorter time frame classes are available.
Our instructors
All our instructors are professional and established artists who are available to answer questions and assist students in the execution of the projects.
Online art classes
TeachinArt online school of art, bridges the gap between a college degree and practicing art in the real world. The focus of the school is to educate and enrich artists. Artists from anywhere across the globe can attend our workshops at their own place, on their own time. Since you do not have to travel and pay large sums of money for room and board, our classes are affordable. Add to it quality instruction from our professional videos and you have a winning recipe.
Our students
Our classes are for complete beginners to advanced artists. Students will get all questions and answers, templates, recipes as well as weekly reviews from the instructor. They will have the option to meet former and current students in our closed social media groups for the school.
Who is our target market? Well, since we focus on serious instruction, we have students that try to bridge their college career with a practical world in art. Many people want to start a career in art, but a full-time job prevents them to do so. Our classes will help them to make a start. We also have artists who want to work from their own studios but need instruction to move forward.
